How measuring actually works
A cast member measures your child against a fixed stick at the entrance to each attraction: shoes on, hats off, standing straight. There is no discretion and no negotiating — the stick decides.
If your child is borderline, ask for a wristband at the first attraction that measures them. A coloured band means the height has been checked for the day and they will not be re-measured at every queue, which saves a lot of standing around and a lot of disappointment repeated seven times.
Thick-soled shoes are not cheating; they are simply how the measurement is taken. Hair that adds height is not — expect it to be flattened.
