What it is

Green Eggs and Ham Cafe is the building shaped like a slice of green ham on the edge of Seuss Landing. It operated seasonally for years and now runs regularly, and it exists to serve one dish: the Green Eggs and Ham Tots, a bowl of tater tots loaded with ham, cheese sauce and a green herb sauce that supplies the color and, more importantly, the acidity that stops the whole thing being cloying.

It is a novelty and it is also a genuinely good plate of loaded tots. The green comes from herbs rather than dye, the ham is properly cooked, and the portion is large enough to share between two people or serve as a full lunch for one.

The rest of the short menu is burgers and sandwiches which are fine and not the reason to be here. Seating is outdoor only, with limited shade, which is the main thing against it.

Our verdict

The Green Eggs and Ham Tots are the best novelty food at Universal Orlando and one of the few gimmick dishes anywhere worth ordering twice. Everything else on the menu is filler.

Tips for Green Eggs and Ham Cafe

  • Order the tots. That is the entire reason this building exists and it delivers better than the joke suggests.
  • One portion of tots feeds two people as a snack. Do not order one each unless you are skipping lunch.
  • Seating is outdoors with limited shade. Take the food into Circus McGurkus if you need air conditioning.
  • Opening hours vary with attendance more than most locations here. Check the app rather than walking over on spec.

A bowl of tater tots loaded with diced ham, cheese sauce and a green herb sauce that supplies the color, served from the ham-shaped building in Seuss Landing.

The Whoburger

Green Eggs and Ham Cafe

$14.99

The house cheeseburger at Green Eggs and Ham Cafe, served with fries from the same window as the tots.

Our take: Filler on a menu that exists for one dish. Order the tots and skip this unless somebody in your group will only eat a burger.
