What it is
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! opened in 2006 and runs small trolley cars on an elevated track that loops around and through the buildings of Seuss Landing at rooftop level, at roughly walking speed, for about three minutes. Its 34-inch requirement is the lowest at Islands of Adventure, which makes it the first ride a lot of children here can do.
There are two separate tracks with different routes and different narration, and most guests never notice - they board whichever car is next and ride whichever loop they get. Riding both is the closest thing Seuss Landing has to a hidden feature.
The pleasure of it is the vantage point. Seuss Landing is designed to be seen from ground level, and getting above it shows you how carefully the roofs, the color transitions and the sightlines were laid out. It is also the only elevated view of the lagoon from this end of the park.
What riding it is actually like
The queue is at ground level and you take a lift up to the boarding platform, which is a step-free arrangement and unusual for a ride of this scale. Cars are small, enclosed on the sides, and seat four in two rows facing forward.
The circuit runs out over the island, through a gap in the Circus McGurkus building, and around the perimeter at roof height. The narration is read from the books and there are set pieces along the route. Speed never rises above a stroll.
The best moment is on the outer stretch where the track runs closest to the lagoon and gives a clear view across the water to Hogsmeade and the Jurassic Park side. It is the only place in Seuss Landing where you can see the scale of the park you are in.

Full transfer into a small enclosed trolley car reached by a lift from ground level. The cars are compact and taller adults sit with knees raised. The lift makes the boarding platform accessible to anyone who can transfer.
Tips that actually help
- This is the lowest height requirement in the park at 34 inches. For a family with a very small child, it is the first ride to head for.
- There are two tracks with different routes. Look at which side the queue is feeding and ride both if the wait is short.
- The cars are cramped for adults. If two adults and two children are riding together, split as one adult per car rather than squeezing four in.
- Ride in the late afternoon for the light. The view across the lagoon from the outer loop is the best thing about it and it is best an hour before sunset.
- Repeat-visitor note: the pass through the Circus McGurkus building is the piece of design worth watching for, and it goes by in about four seconds.

How tall do you have to be for the Trolley Train?
34 inches, which is the lowest height requirement at Islands of Adventure. Caro-Seuss-el and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish in the same island have no minimum at all.
Is the Trolley Train scary?
Almost never. It travels at walking pace, has no drops and stays level throughout. The only thing that bothers anyone is being up at roof height in a small open-sided car, which a minority of children notice once they are moving.
